Interim Finance Lead | London | 4-Month Assignment

I’m currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Lead to join a fast-paced, growing business on a critical 4-month assignment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who can step into a finance function, take ownership and deliver against tight deadlines.
The key objectives
The assignment has two major deliverables, both required by 14 December 2026:
1. 2027 Budget
- Lead the preparation of detailed 2027 budgets across the group.
- Ensure budgets are built on verified historical and current-year performance.
- Work with key stakeholders to achieve full buy-in and board approval.
2. Funding Due Diligence
- Build a lender-ready data room to support an upcoming funding raise.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, reconciled and fully supported.
- Develop the financial narrative around the business, growth and expansion plans.
What you’ll be doing
Alongside the key deliverables, you will:
- Take ownership of weekly cash management and the 12-week rolling cash flow forecast
- Review and verify the balance sheet, resolving legacy issues
- Review prior and current-year P&L performance
- Strengthen finance processes, controls and reporting
- Assess the existing finance team, systems and processes
- Make recommendations around the longer-term finance structure
- Work alongside the existing Financial Controller and wider finance team
- Bring in additional interim resource where required to protect the December deadline
Candidate Profile:
- Hands-on and delivery-focused
- Strong in cash flow, budgeting and financial control
- NetSuite fluent (essesntial)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth or entrepreneurial environments
- Experienced in challenged or transforming finance functions
- A strong communicator and confident stakeholder manager
- A builder and documenter, rather than someone who simply reviews existing processes
- Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude to work efficiently
Desirable: Finance transformation, audit, fundraising/due diligence experience, or experience running a small finance function.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced interim who enjoys getting stuck in, creating structure and delivering tangible results under pressure.
