Associate Solicitor – Private Client – Cardiff – 5-8 Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)
A well established and forward thinking regional law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Associate Solicitor (5-8 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Probate team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior, influential role, managing a complex caseload while contributing to the strategic development of the department.
The Role
You will manage a broad and varied caseload, including:
- Wills, estate planning and wealth preservation
- Probate and estate administration (including complex and high value estates)
- Trust creation, structuring and ongoing management
- Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
You will also:
- Deliver clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
- Handle sensitive and complex matters with minimal supervision
- Build and maintain long term client relationships
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees and support staff
- Play an active role in business development and networking
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and professional standards
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the Private Client department
- Maintain meticulous file management, time recording and billing
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5-8 years’ PQE
- Strong experience across wills, probate and trusts
- STEP qualification (or working towards) highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience supervising junior team members
- Demonstrable business development experience
- Professional, organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Collaborative, team focused approach
