Description
- Responsible for financial accounting to provide control of cash and treasury functions. This will include preparation of weekly cashflow reports, review of periodic bank reconciliations and managing general administration tasks with the bank.
- Prepare and submit internal and external periodic financial reporting as required by stakeholders
- Responsible for the coordination of the completion of the annual statutory accounts, including related disclosures, liaising with auditors and professional advisors to ensure that the accounts are signed in line with agreed timelines.
- Responsible for Corporation and Deferred Tax calculations on a periodic basis including liaison with professional advisers to complete and submit data.
- Provide board and management accounts information and variance analysis on balance sheet, cash flow and debtor movements.
- Production of technical papers in support of year end statutory accounts.
- Responsible for review and sign off of journals and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring technical compliance with Group accounting policies and accounting standards.
- Design and implementation of control procedures in all areas of responsibility.
- Required to support and drive forwards a culture of continuous improvement and using this as a vehicle to upskill and mentor direct reports.
- Management of frameworks relating to financial review of potential new suppliers and advising on commercial matters where required.
- Provide ad hoc support and analysis to the Financial Controller as required.
Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with significant post qualification experience
- Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS for year end reporting purposes, as well as day-to-day balance sheet accounting
- Experience of Treasury management and Group reporting processes in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience of managing and developing accounting staff
- Ability to demonstrate implementation of process and control environment improvements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical as the role requires frequent contact with all levels within the organisation and with Group. As a result, the ability to interpret financial data for non-financial staff is also important
- Experience of developing and implementing financial modelling tools is essential
- The role has numerous periodic requirements, so an organised and methodical approach to work is important, with focus on attention to detail being key.
