Job Title: Residential Children’s Home Support Worker
Location: Surrey
Employment Type: Temp-Perm (15-week contract leading to permanent)
Overview:
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop independence? We’re looking for a dedicated Residential Children’s Home Support Worker to join our team in Surrey. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people, aged between 12-18 years old, and help them build confidence, life skills, and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
·Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with young people (YP) to help them achieve their potential.
·Support young people with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD, ASD, and brain injuries, creating a safe, nurturing environment.
·Encourage independence by assisting with day-to-day activities, such as personal care, household chores, and academic support.
·Help plan and implement individual care plans, ensuring each YP’s unique needs are met.
·Collaborate with the team to develop strategies that promote positive behaviours and emotional well-being.
·Offer guidance and emotional support, acting as a role model for positive behaviours and healthy relationships.
·Work closely with external agencies, such as social workers, to ensure young people receive the best care and support.
Essential Requirements:
·Driver’s Licence is Essential due to the lack of local transport links.
·2 years’ experience in residential childcare, ideally working with young people with additional needs.
·A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and helping them reach their potential.
·Experience working with young people with Autism, ADHD, ASD, or brain injuries.
·Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support and care.

·Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
·Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with young people and colleagues.
·Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
·A proactive approach to problem-solving and creating positive environments.
