Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join an SME Marketing & Events agency on a part-time, permanent basis. This role requires bookkeeping experience up to trial balance alongside experience with QuickBooks and excel in a similar size business.

My client are an SME Marketing & Events agency, supporting major brands internationally. Their finance team are looking for additional support and therefore are looking for an experience Assistant Accountant to join as soon as possible.
Description
- Manage accounts payable by recording vendor invoices and payments, ensuring timely processing.
- Raise and track accounts receivable by recording customer invoices and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements with ledger entries, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Record and reconcile petty cash transactions regularly.
- Assist with payroll processing by recording payroll-related entries and deductions as needed.
- Prepare and post accrual entries for expenses incurred but not yet recorded.
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording, categorizing, and reconciling all financial transactions.
- Post journal entries and update general ledger accounts to reflect correct balances.
- Make necessary period-end adjustments for prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other corrections.
- Compile trial balance by summarizing all ledger account balances and ensure debits equal credits.
- Review trial balance for accuracy and highlight discrepancies for correction before finalization.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial documents to support audit readiness.
- Collaborate with accountants and finance managers to provide accurate financial data.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities as required.
Profile
The successful Part-time Assistant Accountant:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping up to trial balance
- Experience with QuickBooks and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive individual with demonstrable experience working independently
- Ability to start immediately
Job Offer
- £35,000 – £40,000 full time equivalent salary
- Part-time, 3/4 days a week, hours are flexible
- Remote / hybrid working
