Claims Handler – Property & Casualty – Bristol

Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a Claims Handler to join their successful Property and Casualty team in central Bristol.

The Property & Casualty team is part of the firm’s Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for household and commercial property Insurers in the market, as well as some large insureds and cover holders. The team handles a wide variety of claims arising out of property damage, including fire, water, subsidence, construction, and impact damage.

You will manage your own caseload of property recovery claims from first instruction, through to the pre-action stage and into proceedings when necessary. Previous experience and knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules is essential.

Your day-to-day work will be varied. You will manage a large caseload of Property Insurance Claims and will be given the opportunity to work on matters varying in value from £10,000 all the way up to millions of pounds. You will deliver a high quality and timely service to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.

Previous claims handling experience or experience running your own caseload is essential for this role. You will have litigation experience and an understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules. Previous insurance experience is desirable but is not essential.

As a claims handler you will have the ability to build relationships, have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
