My client is looking for an experienced part qualified assistant accountant for a 3 month temporary position who can start ASAP.

This organisation has offices all over the UK and globally with a large finance department.
Description
Duties for the Assistant Accountant:
- Manage bank transactions including cash book entries, payments, reconciliations, and resolving queries.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring assets are recorded, depreciated monthly, and accruals are posted.
- Support inventory processes by analysing stock data, auditing counts, and reconciling inventory accounts.
- Handle month-end tasks such as accruals, VAT journal postings, and payroll journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including sundry debtors and overhead re allocations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies for asset approvals and inventory procedures.
- Assist with lease accounting by calculating interest depreciation for car leases.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth operations.
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
- Relevant educational qualifications in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
