Managing Director – Catering & Facility Management

Remote (Turkey) | Future Transition to Damascus, Syria

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Managing Director to lead the mobilisation and long-term delivery of one of the region’s most significant Catering & Facility Management operations.

The successful candidate will initially be based remotely from Turkey during the mobilisation and development phase of the project (3+ years), before transitioning to Damascus, Syria, as the operation becomes fully established.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a large-scale organisation from the ground up, delivering integrated support services that will play a critical role in supporting healthcare and humanitarian operations. From mobilisation through to full operational delivery, you will shape the strategy, culture and long-term success of a complex international contract.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you will have overall responsibility for establishing and leading this large-scale Catering & Facility Management business.

You will oversee the mobilisation of the contract, develop the operational strategy, establish governance and compliance frameworks, build a high-performing executive leadership team, and ensure the successful delivery of integrated support services.

Working closely with the UN-WHO, international stakeholders and key client representatives, you will be responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, contract compliance, commercial delivery, risk management and the continued growth and development of the organisation.

We’re looking for a leader who brings:

  • Previous experience as a Managing Director, CEO, Country Director or Regional Director within a leading Catering, Facility Management or Integrated Support Services organisation.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale Catering & Facility Management contracts within healthcare, government, humanitarian, defence, institutional or remote-site environments.
  • Proven success mobilising major international contracts and greenfield operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-service operations including catering, soft services and facilities management.
  • Previous exposure to UN agencies, WHO, NGOs, international organisations or government contracts would be highly advantageous.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, client relationship management and executive leadership skills.
  • Experience leading large, multicultural teams across multiple countries.
  • The resilience, adaptability and strategic vision to lead within challenging international environments.

Salary Package:

Highly negotiable and dependent upon experience, with a comprehensive expatriate package.

This appointment is ideally suited to an internationally experienced executive with a proven track record in Catering & Facility Management and the capability to lead one of the region’s most significant UN-WHO support services contracts, delivering operational excellence across a complex humanitarian and healthcare environment.
