Job title: Head Chef – Centrally Located Restaurant

For our client, a restaurant ideally located in the city center of Amsterdam, we are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a restaurant offering upper-scale Mediterranean and modern European cuisine in a sophisticated yet approachable setting. Currently operating 5 days a week for dinner service it provides high-quality food and service without the formality of fine dining.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all kitchen operations and team management
- Develop and refine creative Mediterranean/modern European menus
- Maintain consistent high-quality food standards and presentation
- Manage inventory, supplier relationships, and cost control
- Ensure smooth and efficient dinner service flow
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Head Chef or in a similar leadership role
- Strong background in Mediterranean and modern European cuisine
- Experience managing kitchen teams in upper-scale environments
- Creative menu development skills with attention to detail
- Strong cost control and inventory management abilities
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency in a 50-cover dinner service
