Solicitor / FCILEx – Contract & Commercial Litigation – Cardiff
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: From £40,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience)
A well established national law firm is seeking a Solicitor or FCILEx to join its Contract & Commercial Litigation team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload of civil litigation matters (excluding personal injury), acting for both Claimants and Defendants on complex contractual disputes. The team is known for its supportive culture, high quality work and strong development pathways.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload and work on a broad range of disputes, including:
- Commercial and consumer contract claims
- Misrepresentation matters
- Professional negligence disputes
- Construction related litigation
- Fast, intermediate and multi track cases
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing your own caseload from instruction to resolution
- Advising clients by phone and face to face
- Progressing matters using the firm’s case management system
- Handling billing and invoicing
- Working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
- Hybrid or fully remote working is available, with Cardiff office attendance for internal meetings when required.
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to:
- A qualified Solicitor or FCILEx
- Candidates with experience advising individuals and commercial clients on contract based disputes
- Lawyers confident managing fast and multi track matters
- Strong communicators with excellent organisational skills
- Pragmatic problem solvers with a client focused approach
- IT literate candidates with case management experience
- Experience with insurance funded clients is desirable but not essential.
