Head Chef – Boutique Hotel & Restaurant (Kensington, London)

£45,000 + Tronc

Our client is a newly refurbished boutique hotel in Kensington, due to reopen December 2025.

We seek a creative, hands-on Head Chef to lead a small, passionate team and make our restaurant a destination.

What you will do

  • Lead and manage a kitchen team of 5 staff.
  • Design and drive a menu of modern small plates, visually striking and Instagram-friendly.
  • Deliver consistent, high quality food service for around 32 covers per night.
  • Monitor food costs, quality control, and kitchen hygiene.
  • Collaborate with front of house to ensure smooth guest experience.
  • Stay on top of new trends in food, plating, and presentation.
  • Train and mentor your team.

Who you are

  • You have prior head chef or senior chef experience in a boutique or upscale environment.
  • You thrive in intimate settings, where creativity matters as much as consistency.
  • You have a good sense of aesthetics and plating.
  • You know how to manage costs, yields, and supplier relationships.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently.
  • You adapt quickly and stay calm under pressure.
