Description

§ Undertake technical support and research in delivering tax services as directed to meet client needs liaising with relevant Manager

§ Prepare personal tax returns for review by Manager

§ Assist with basic tax planning, projects, compliance matters and deal with client queries. Draft correspondence to clients for review by Manager

§ Obtain an understanding of the principles of residency, ordinary residency and domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and understand the taxation of death estates and trusts

§ Take responsibility for the delivery of the complete tax computation and return for typical straight forward companies ready for review by a Manager

§ Take responsibility for compliance administration and quarterly and year end processes

§ Work in collaboration with the team to share knowledge and ideas to assist in the communication and achievement of team goals

§ Start to develop profile and build knowledge in a specific area of technical expertise

§ Begin to build a network of professional contacts

§ Assist with marketing initiatives and build knowledge and awareness of all aspects of the firm’s service to help identify opportunities to up sell and cross sell services to clients

§ Support marketing and business development initiatives

§ Engage positively with the business and advocate the firm’s values

§ Take responsibility for own personal and professional behaviour

§ Actively progress own learning and development

Profile

A successful Tax Senior should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in accountancy or tax, such as ATT.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance processes.
  • 3+ years experience in a busy tax department in public practice.
  • Experience managing client portfolios in the professional services industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to workload management and meeting deadlines.

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary in the range of £45000 to £55000 per annum, depending on experience.
