We’re searching for a Head Chef to take the helm of a standout, independent gastropub in Central London. This isn’t just another role, it’s a chance to truly own a kitchen, lead a loyal brigade, and shape a menu that reflects your creativity and craft.
With a foundation in refined, seasonal British cooking, you’ll have full freedom to design and evolve monthly-changing menus – from precise small plates and elegant beef tartare to vibrant Sunday roasts that bring the pub to life. You’ll inherit a stable, motivated team and work alongside a supportive GM who trusts you to run the kitchen your way.
This role is made for a Head Chef who wants both autonomy and recognition, thrives in premium gastropubs or independents, and takes pride in delivering food that balances technical skill, seasonality, and genuine guest experience. Alongside the main dining room, you’ll oversee private events and canapé receptions, ensuring variety and creative scope in your day-to-day
Head Chef requirements:
- Proven experience as Head Chef in an independent, quality-led gastropub or restaurant.
- Strong skills in kitchen management – rotas, costings, GP control, and supplier relationships.
- Confident in developing seasonal menus and leading a brigade across service and events.
Head Chef benefits:
- £45,000 to £55,000 salary + Tronc
