Senior Financial Services Regulation – Bristol

This leading top 100 law firm are expanding their Financial Services Regulatory team and are seeking ambitious Managing Associates or Legal Directors with over 6 years’ PQE to join them in their Bristol office.

This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge retail financial services matters, advising prominent banks, building societies, and specialist lenders.

The successful candidate will specialise in retail financial services, including consumer credit, mortgages, retail banking, and payments regulation. Your work will range from supporting clients in launching new products and services to navigating regulatory issues, implementing reforms, and ensuring compliance with evolving requirements such as consumer duty and consumer law.

In addition to technical legal work, you’ll:

  • Mentor junior team members, supporting their development.
  • Deliver training and speak at client events on regulatory topics.
  • Contribute to business development and strategy, helping to grow the retail financial services practice.

Ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) with 6+ years’ PQE and strong technical experience in financial regulation.
  • Experience in retail financial services or payments regulation gained in private practice, in-house, or a compliance role.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a self-motivated approach to development.
