Overview

We are currently seeking an interim Process Engineer, to work with our global FMCG client, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client’s scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £33,021 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Assisting with R&D activities related to the cost-effective implementation of Innovation, Renovation, Line Extension and/or Cost Optimizations projects
  • Perform general Pilot Plant duties; equipment setup, batching, filling, clean-up and equipment maintenance. Produce product for consumer and stability studies.
  • Following and understanding new product and technologies. Ensure robust process design within manufacturing capability. This includes frequent batch manufacture, product quality measurement and results analysis.
  • Write process specifications and implement processes at facilities. Planning, coordinating and implementing factory trials of new products under his/her responsibility
  • Deployment of Process designs to enable increased capability, flexibility and efficiency in factories.
  • 6Troubleshoot existing proesses and product-related issues at manufacturers.
  • Play an active role in leading and contributing to the Processing Strategy and other category activities.
  • Work closely with other functions, such as marketing and supply chain, to create, develop and deliver new products and innovations.
  • Work and communicate effectively with different departments and functions to deliver against the project network timings and identify and manage risks.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree qualified or equivalent, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar
  2. Quick to learn, able to collaborate and share findings with the wider teams
  3. A creative, logical and analytical mind to generate innovative design solutions to technical design problems.
  4. Ability to respond quickly to change in prioritizes.
  5. You will need to be self-motivated with good verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Willing to work Pilot plan operations where there will be an element of manual handling within the role
  7. Able to see the big picture and connect projects from different countries and brands to drive simplification and gross margin improvement opportunities.
  8. A passion for success is a must. Detail orientated and able to support with multiple projects.

Job Tenure: Contract and Full-Time
