Overview

The Finance Officer – Service Charge plays a crucial role in the financial management of service charges within the Social Housing sector. This entry-level position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of Section 18-30 of The 1995 Landlord Tenancy agreement.

Description

• Preparation and processing of service charge statements.
• Reconciliation of service charge accounts.
• Ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
• Assisting with year-end audits and financial reporting.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding service charge queries.
• Complying with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.

Profile

• Ideally studying for an AAT or CCAB approved accounting qualification.
• Understand the concepts of double entry bookkeeping.
• Experience working in a busy Transactional Team at a big customer-focused company.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
