Excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a leading National law firm in Cardiff.

The Clinical Negligence department represents claimants and their families following poor medical treatment. The team is top-ranked in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, offering one of the largest practices in the UK.

The role will primarily involve working on new and potential instructions and duties will include:

  • Handle a caseload of clinical negligence work in line with department strategy
  • Conduct a wide range of clinical negligence cases
  • Maintaining a good knowledge of CPR and the law relating to clinical negligence
  • Providing advice to clients on sensitive matters
  • Draft witness statements and pleadings
  • Reviewing medical reports and provide appropriate advice
  • Maintaining a basic understanding of medical issues
  • Instructing and communicating with Counsel
  • Dealing with highly complex conferences
  • Working with other solicitors to develop and help maintain good client relationships and knowledge within clinical negligence
  • Maintaining a professional attitude
  • Maintaining knowledge of clinical negligence complaints handling procedures by G.P.s and NHS in England and Wales
  • If required, supervise other fee earners
