The Finance Officer – Service Charge plays a crucial role in the financial management of service charges within the Social Housing sector. This entry-level position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of Section 18-30 of The 1995 Landlord Tenancy agreement.

Description

Preparation and processing of service charge statements.

Reconciliation of service charge accounts.

Ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.

Assisting with year-end audits and financial reporting.

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding service charge queries.

Complying with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.

Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Profile

Ideally studying for an AAT or CCAB approved accounting qualification.

Understand the concepts of double entry bookkeeping.

Experience working in a busy Transactional Team at a big customer-focused company.

Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
